OVERNIGHT work to replace drainage channels in the central reservation and verge of two short sections of the westbound carriageway of the A14 at Spaldwick and Ellington started last night (Tuesday). It is set to continue for 13 nights.
Work at Spaldwick involves replacing 0.2 miles of drainage channel in the central reservation. Lane 2 will be closed to traffic and a 50 mph speed restriction in place.
At Ellington, 0.3 miles of the verge drain will be replaced, with a lane 1 closure and a 50 mph speed restriction in place.
All work will be carried out overnight, from 8pm to 6am, Monday to Thursday, and from 9pm to 6am, Friday. There will be no weekend working, the Highways Agency said yesterday.
