AFTER two days of heavy snow causing disruption across Cambridgeshire, the county looks set to be clear from any snowfall this weekend. Snow swept across the county on Friday morning (February 6) resulting in dangerous driving conditions and the closure of more than 100 schools. But according to forecasters, the worst of the snow is over with only a slight chance of a sprinkling of snow on Sunday night. According to the Met Office weather forecast for the weekend most parts of the East of England will become dry with long clear spells. A widespread, sharp frost will develop with icy stretches likely and a fresh northerly wind. During the day on Saturday and Sunday temperatures are unlikely to be above 1c. Friday, Saturday and Sunday will see overnight frosts with temperatures plummeting to -6c overnight. There is a small chance of snow on Sunday night. The advice to drivers from Cambridgeshire police is to take extreme caution when using roads affected by snow and to beware of ice.
