Children at a Somersham nursery now have their very own castle to play in thanks to the design skills of a St Ivo School student.

Chris Campion, a second year A-level product design student, set out on his ambitious project with the aim of building a play centre for Silks Farm Nursery School which would be both safe and fun for pre-school children.

After almost a year, the play centre was presented the nursery last week.

Nigel Swaby, the nursery's director, said: "We are pleased to have had the opportunity of working with Chris at St Ivo School and supporting him with his product design course.

"The play centre he created is superb and we are sure the children at the nursery will have many years of fun using it."

Claire Morrison, head of design and technology at St Ivo, said: "Chris has had real experience of a design consultant by working on a live project in conjunction with the nursery.
