MY mother worked at the Black Cat during war years and before. I have a photo of the Black Cat when it had a Clock Tower; it also had a garage and was a transport café.

After school at Paxton I used to go to meet my mum and play with two children. The owners at that time were Mr and Mrs Carter. The wife ran the café and the husband was in the RAF. As the years went by, a Mr and Mrs Abraham owned it. Dances took place and a good time was had by all.
