A water main burst in Huntingdon in the early hours of this morning, flooding one property and causing the road to be closed.
Police officers were called to Ermine Street at about 3am. Anglian Water is now on the scene dealing with the problem, where the water is off at a handful of properties. The street is closed between St Peter’s Road and the ring road.
Motorists are advised to avoid the area and find alternative routes. Anglian Water estimate that the road may be closed for up to 24 hours while they carry out repairs to the pipe and road. They also added that they will arrange any necessary repair work to the flooded home.
An Anglian Water spokesman said: “We’re very sorry for the upset and disruption caused and thank customers for their patience.”
