THE FORMER McDonald's site at Alconbury has been sold for £362,500 but secrecy surrounds who has purchased the site and what it will be used for.
The former fast food restaurant, which has been dubbed the flying saucer because of its distinct shape, was sold through auction with a guide price of £300,000-£350,000.
A spokesman for Savills who marketed the site said: "It has been purchased by a small company but I cannot say anymore than that."
The area consists of 1.43 acres and is situated opposite the main entrance to RAF Alconbury.
