Pupils from Thongsley Fields Primary and Nursery School have been awarded the Diana, Princess of Wales, Anti-Bullying Award for their contribution to the school. The award follows the success of the school's peer support Playground Friends scheme. The year six pupils receiving the award are Ann-Marie Knight, Sarah Morrison, Liam Gaynor, Danielle Keeble and Natasha Woodhams, who were presented with a certificate by Councillor Shona Johnstone, county council cabinet member for children's services. The pupils were chosen for their inspirational qualities, demonstrated through their commitment and work as Playground Friends. Headteacher Rachel Myer said: "The work of our Playground Friends has been recognised across the county and it plays an essential role in our overall approach to positive behaviour. We are always happy to share their successes with other schools looking to set up a similar peer support system.
