LATE last year I was taken by ambulance to Hinchingbrooke Hospital. The consultants, doctors and nurses were very good to me, but the (result of the) MRI scan was worse than the consultants thought so I had to go to the treatment centre at Addenbrooke's in Cambridge to have a big operation.
Mr Peter Baldwin was the consultant who did the operation, but there are about four more consultants in the practice, all to my mind top-class. Two or three came to see me twice a day and that was over Christmas and New Year.
I was in hospital 22 days. The sisters, nurses and the people who bring your food and drinks all make you feel special. If you went private you could not get better care.
In my mind, we have the best hospitals in the country and the best people in the world, and I thank each and every one of them for my life back.
