A WOMAN rolled her car over and wrote it off while driving at nearly twice the alcohol limit after an argument with her partner.

Stacy Smith, 25, of Church Road, Grafham, crashed her Rover on the A1 northbound just before 3am on Sunday, September 24, last year.

At Huntingdon Magistrates' Court last Thursday Smith was banned from driving for 16 months after pleading guilty to drink-driving.

The crash happened after Smith had rowed with her partner at an address in St Neots and stormed out to drive home.

She then crashed her car on the A1, just south of Buckden. Smith was treated at Hinchingbrooke Hospital for minor injuries and tested positive for alcohol, recording a reading of 146 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitres of blood - the limit is 80.

In addition to the ban, Smith was fined £150 and ordered to pay £35 costs.
