AN armed robber threatened two female workers with a handgun as he demanded cash from a betting shop in Huntingdon.

The balaclava-clad robber entered the Coral shop in Oak Drive on Friday (December 19) at 6.50pm.

He pointed a black handgun at two female employees and demanded money and threw a carrier bag on the counter.

The members of staff handed over "an amount of cash" and the robber made off with the money on a bicycle in the direction of the Oxmoor estate.

The man is described as being between 6ft 1in and 6ft 2in tall, of medium to large build and in his late 20s.

He was wearing a black, long sleeved jacket, blue jeans, white Reebox trainers, black glove and a black balaclava.

DI Mark Butler, of Cambridgeshire police, said: "Inquiries have began to identify the person responsible for this robbery, which left the two young women working at the shop extremely upset.

"We are particularly keen to speak to a man who was in the shop at the time using game machine number four, because we believe he may have crucial information.

"There was also a small group of people outside at the time who would have seen the robber ride off. I would urge these people and anyone else with information, to contact police."
