The balaclava-clad man entered the One-Stop Shop on the Causeway in Godmanchester at 10pm on Monday (December 22).
The robber threatened two female shop workers with what is believed to have been a handgun and demanded money.
The staff handed over an amount of cash from the tills and the offender left the store.
Detective Inspector Mark Butler, investigating, said: "This was a very frightening incident for staff and we are appealing for any information about this robbery. We would like to hear from anyone who was in the area and may have seen this man entering or leaving the shop."
Police are linking this armed robbery to another that took place at the Coral betting shop in Oak Drive, Huntingdon on Friday evening.
