BLOOMING: There were more than 300 entries in the 42nd St Neots and District Garden Club, held in Little Paxton Village Hall, last Saturday (August 20).
The event is the highlight of the club's year when members can exhibit their skills and compete against each other in 73 classes that included flowers, fruit, vegetables, home produce, and handicrafts.
Among this year's top performers were David Lenton, who amassed a grand total of 87 points winning several cups and trophies, Bob Armstrong whose onions were judged the best vegetable exhibit and Jenny Walker who was the female to gain the most points and the top scorer for St Neots Garden Club.
Peter Walker, show secretary and club chairmen, won the RHS Banksian Medal for horticulture while other medals were also awarded to the winners of the children's art classes.
The attracted more than 100 visitors who also supported the raffle, tombola and plant sale.
"As chairman of the club I must thank publicly all those who took part and in particular St Neots in Bloom and the many local businesses that sponsored the event," Mr Walker said.
