FENSTANTON singer and guitarist Barry Denston will be known to many local gig-goers for his soulful covers of pop artists such as Craig David, McFly and Justin Timberlake in venues across the region.
I've seen him perform a number of times in St Ives and Fenstanton and he's always excellent, but this competition entry is the first original song I've heard him sing.
Need More Time is relaxed and soulful pop tune - it rhymes, it's melodic and packs two-and-a-half minutes with great snappy lyrics.
Matching "cupid" with "stupid" shows a lot of confidence, as does the entire bouncy feel of the song.
It's hard to believe this is Barry's first attempt at writing his own songs, but I'll take his word for it.
It's a very strong pop tune, indeed, simply recorded and I can't immediately think of anything it lacks.
