Once again an articulate minority has imposed its views on ideas that would have benefited the many. Exactly the same happened in St Ives when a minority seek to prevent buses running through the centre of the town. This would not only have helped buses to avoid congestion but would also have opened up the town for visitors.
When you read Councillor Hyams comment that scrapping bus priorities will help procure "a really good public transport system", John McEnroe's outburst comes to mind: "You cannot be serious." Is the councillor naive or foolish?
