AS a regular user of the A141 Kings Ripton Road, I have become accustomed to seeing the memorial to Warren Hay, who was killed tragically on May 13, 2007 after being hit by a car crossing the road to reach the Jubilee Park playing fields.
This memorial was a constant reminder not only of Warren but to all users of that road of the necessity to reduce their speed.
It appears that work has now commenced on the crossing two years later, as trees have been cleared, but regrettably the memorial toys - among them Warren's teddy and football - have had to be removed.
Does anyone, like me, feel that a fitting permanent memorial should be sited there once the crossing is in place, also as a testament to the tenacity of the action group which fought so hard to ensure that this road gets a safer crossing place to the playing fields?
