A MOBILE classroom teaching Christian values went to Hinchingbrooke School last week. The "missionary" trailer set out to teach pupils how religious ideas can relate to modern life at the Huntingdon school. The portable classroom called GSUS Live was provided by Huntingdon Community Church. It has 16 flat-screen computers and a 3D cinema screen on which the pupils can watch music clips from Christian artists, and excerpts from films such as The Miracle Maker, starring Ralph Fiennes, and telling the story of Jesus. The main purpose of the project was to take three everyday themes - fear, forgiveness and rejection - and explain through games and media clips how these themes can be approached from a Christian perspective.

Paul Edworthy, youth worker at Huntingdon Community Church, said: "The project's been a real success. Over five days it has helped introduce kids who might not otherwise get the opportunity to Christian ideas and how they can be applied to everyday life. It's been good fun and we've had positive feedback from both teachers and students."

Paul Chester, head of religious education, said: "The pupils have been very positive about the experience. The interactive technology has given the pupils a different viewpoint and a new experience of religious education."

INFORMATION: Huntingdon Community Church meets every Sunday morning at the Performing Arts Centre, Huntingdon.
