AT St Peter's School, assistant head of sixth form, Richard Corbett, said he was really pleased with the overall pass rate of 91 per cent, which is a two per cent increase on last year.
The A-C pass rate was 42 per cent.
He said: "The results are very good overall and we are all really pleased with them. Those students who worked hard achieved the results they deserved and a lot of the pupils have got into their first choice universities."
Top of the class was Michelle Gibson, who got three B grades, and head boy Steven McKerral who got an A in drama, a B in business and a C in ICT. He is set to study culinary arts at Birmingham University.
