ALMOST a year after acquiring the former Grand Cinema site in Ramsey, social landlord the Luminus Group has submitted detailed plans for 24 flats and a library. The £2million plans also include replacing the public toilets and converting a small house into community office space. The 11 one-bedroom and 13 two-bedroom flats will be for the open market, although Luminus, through its subsidiary Huntingdonshire Housing Partnership, is the largest registered social landlord in the district. The proposed scheme is in two main blocks. The front block of the two will contain the library and the flats, which Luminus says are spacious and well designed, each with distinct entrances. Although Luminus will manage the construction of the new library building, the fitting of the multi-media centre will be for Cambridgeshire County Council.
