FRUITY Friday was held at Hartford Junior School, with the children dressing up as fruit and vegetables and Huntingdon MP Jonathan Djanogly invited to taste the home cooked school lunches.

The youngsters eat school dinners cooked on the premises, by caterer Julie Storey.

Teacher Joanne Clark said: "About a third of our 225 children eat school dinners and they empty their plates. Julie comes round with food that has not been eaten and they put up their hands for more."

The menu on Fruity Friday included salad, cheese bakewell, new potatoes, ham, fish fingers, date slice and blueberry muffins.
