A RETIREMENT home in St Neots has been given a £800,000 refurbishment, complete with state-of-the-art facilities, including Internet connections, for residents.
The deputy mayor of St Neots, Councillor Marion Todd, officially opened the new facilities at Chesterton Court housing scheme for the over 60s located in Russell Street, on Saturday.
The investment includes a new communal building, guest bedroom, computer suite, extended communal kitchen and a hairdressing facility.
A second phase of refurbishment, which will improve security for residents and widen staircases to allow for stair lifts, is due to begin shortly
