At Mill View, set on the banks of the River Cam in the village of Hauxton, Cambridgeshire, there are plenty of opportunities to keep as active and busy both physically and mentally as you like.

The beautiful location and range of facilities and stunning grounds means it’s the ideal place to spend time with the family – find out more by booking an appointment to join the open day on June 24.

A development for the over 55s and very much enjoyed by the young at heart, it offers extensive communal grounds, stunning gardens and a great rooftop terrace restaurant. There’s even a guest suite making it easy to get together with friends and family.

Keen cyclists, walkers and runners enjoy the many attractive routes in the area, perhaps heading to Trumpington Meadows Country Park for particularly lovely leafy rides, runs and walks. Situated not far from Cambridge city centre, it’s easy to enjoy the town’s shops, museums, historic buildings and monuments and parks.  Mill View residents and families also enjoy the amenities and shops at nearby Great Shelford too.

The village of Hauxton itself is a welcoming community, with shops and pubs and plenty of activities to join from bridge and bowls to pilates and a pop-up pub at the new village centre.

It’s easy for visitors to arrive, and for days out further afield too, with direct trains to London from the train station less than three miles away. Mill View is adjacent to Cambridge Road with easy access to the M11 motorway.

Naturally there is plenty to do at Mill View itself.  The delightful roof garden restaurant is a beautiful place to socialise with family and friends; enjoy the  panoramic views across the countryside from the terrace.

There is a three-course cooked meal for residents at lunchtime, included in the service charge. Alternatively, sandwiches can be provided to enjoy in your own apartment in the evening.

Other facilities include communal lounge, hair salon, regular visiting nail technician and the village shop on site. Mill View provides a weekly bus to a local supermarket for residents to go shopping.

Join in as much as you like too, with all sorts of activities and social occasions organised by bpha extra care scheme manager Kayleigh Ackford. Whether it’s jigsaws or a game of Scrabble, wine and cheese evenings and trips out, there is something for everyone.

The luxury Mill View apartments are designed to help residents feel at home as soon as they open the door. With a range of one and two bed modern apartments, they are move-in ready.

The idea is to enable the over 55s to live life the way they want. So each apartment has been carefully designed to create attractive living spaces for a relaxing, easy lifestyle. They’re open plan, light and spacious and finished to a luxury standard. That includes high end kitchens featuring integrated Zanussi appliances, wood effect flooring to the living areas and spacious carpeted bedrooms, bathrooms with walk-in showers, widened doorways to allow for possible future access needs and each has a balcony or terrace.

Families are always welcome, and can relax knowing their relatives have access to bespoke support services from BPHA if and when needed. That means care is available if needed, while the emphasis is living life to the full.

There is a 24-hour emergency response service in each apartment, and individual care can include help to get out of bed, reminders to take medication, help with personal care or additional support depending on your need.

If needs change, the care plan can change with it.

Take the family and book an appointment to have a look at the apartments during the viewing day, or take time to consider your options. Apartments are available via Shared Ownership of between 50% and 75% with rent paid on the remainder. However, if you buy 75% shares you don’t pay any rent.
