FIREFIGHTERS rescued a calf after it fell into a river in Huntingdon.
The rescue took place at 11.23am on Tuesday (April 21) in Hartford Road.
Crews used a small boat to travel down the river to get to the calf. Firefighters then got out of the boat and waded towards the calf and pushed it onto the riverbank.
Rob Allport, Watch Manager at Huntingdon Fire Station, said: "The calf had been in the water for some time and had stopped struggling because it was so exhausted.
"This was an easy rescue due to the size of the calf and because it was so tired. It was very easy to push it back onto the riverbank where it was reunited with its mother unharmed.
