VANDALS have struck at Eaton Socon Cricket Club for the second time in five months, cutting cricket nets to shreds and causing damage estimated at 10,000.
Dog walkers alerted the club that vandals had cut holes in the practice nets at the ground on Peppercorns Lane in the early hours of Friday May 22.
It follows a similar attack on New Year's Eve last year, when youths smashed guttering, broke paving slabs and left over 100 beer bottles and cans littering the area.
Youth coach Chris McKay said Friday's damage to the nets was worse than the New Year attack.
