SHOPS, cafes and leisure facilities in St Neots are being urged to make breastfeeding mothers feel more welcome as part of a campaign by a national parenting charity.

The St Neots and district branch of the National Childbirth Trust (NCT) is urging businesses in the town to do more to make breastfeeding women feel comfortable.

As part of the campaign a breastfeeding awareness event was held at the Eatons Children's Centre at Bushmead School on Thursday, May 14. The group's trainee breastfeeding counsellor was on hand to offer information leaflets and answer any questions.

Jenny Barrett, mum of three, and chair of St Neots NCT said: "The support I gained through the NCT gave me the confidence to breastfed all three of my boys and I want other mums to know that we are able to support them."
