FOUR kittens were found dumped in a black sack in St Neots last week.
The St Neots branch of Cats Protection was called to St Neots Road in Eaton Socon on Friday, where the sick animals had been put out for the rubbish.
The black kittens, thought to be around six weeks old, are now with a foster carer in the town but are still unwell.
Amanda Thomas, who will look after the kittens until they are fit enough to be rehomed, said: "There is absolutely no need to dump kittens like this. We are supposed to be a nation of animal lovers. Anyone with kittens or unwanted pets can go to a shelter or vet and say 'I don't want these any more' and they will be properly looked after - not tied up in a black sack for the rubbish."
She described the kittens as quiet, and all are suffering from severe diarrhoea.
She said: "They have no get up and go. The diarrhoea could be caused by the stress of being dumped - or it could be why they were abandoned in the first place.
