HUNDREDS of homes in the Huntingdon area have had their power restored after damage was caused to an overhead cable.
Power was cut to 302 customers just after noon on Tuesday (August 4) when a high voltage cable was damaged by a third party. Areas affected included Grafham, Buckden and Diddington. Power was restored to all but four customers at 3.42pm.
A spokesman for EDF Energy Networks said: "We would like to apologise for the inconvenience caused."
John Stewart who is retired and lives in Van Diemens Way, Grafham, contacted the Hunts Post to say his power had been cut. He said: "We have no gas supply here, so we cannot do anything without electricity."
