A REWARD has been offered in connection with an assault on an elderly man near to the mosque in St Ives.
A 76-year-old man was assaulted in Needingworth Road on Tuesday, December 1.
A member of the public, who wishes to remain anonymous, has approached officers and put up a reward of �500 for anyone with information which leads to the conviction of the offender.
The offender got out of a beige car at 12.50pm and walked over to the victim outside the mosque and slapped him. The offender then ran back to the car and got in the passenger's side.
There was a woman sat in the driver's seat and they both began laughing and drove off along Needingworth Road in the direction of Saint Audrey Lane.
The victim was not injured in the assault but was left shaken.
The attacker is described as white, slim and tall. He was wearing a brown leather jacket.
PC Chaz Hansford, investigating, said: "We would like to hear from anyone who witnessed this assault or has information about the offender."
