A BALACLAVA-wearing thief has targeted a shop and restaurant at the world's leading heart and lung transplant hospital.
The break in took place at Papworth Hospital on Sunday (February 7) between 8.20pm and 9.30pm.
The offender stole confectionary worth about 200 and a small safe containing 120 in cash.
A window and store room to the restaurant was damaged during the raid.
The thief was dressed in black, wearing a balaclava and black gloves.
Detective Sergeant Andy Crocker said: "Although the shop and restaurant weren't open at the time, the hospital itself was very busy with visitors.
"I would like to speak to anyone who saw something suspicious, either inside the hospital or in the grounds."
INFORMATION: Anyone with information is asked to contact DS Crocker at Histon Police Station on 0345 4565464 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555111.
