I THINK the residents of St Ives would have been truly shocked to hear Councillor Julie Dew, as I did, urge members of the cabinet at HDC on October 20 to adopt the proposed St Ives West Design Framework without delay. At a previous busy public meeting held in St Ives Corn Exchange on September 6, I heard many residents and representatives of organisations express concerns, particularly about levels of traffic and demand on school places.
I think these voters may now question whether their views were represented by Cllr Dew, and whether they have been properly considered in our local democratic process.
