The installation of a long-awaited £6 million footbridge at St Neots station has been delayed.
The bridge was due to be lifted into place last weekend, but overhead line work meant that Network Rail had to postpone the task.
However, the project is still on schedule to be completed next year, the company said.
The bridge will include lifts to all platforms as well as to the station car park and the Loves Farm housing development, improving access for wheelchair users who have often been forced to travel to Huntingdon to catch a train.
A spokesman for Network Rail said: “We hoped to have been able to carry out the bridge lift at St Neots station last weekend, however this wasn’t possible. We’re currently hoping to re-schedule this element of the project as soon as possible.”
