LIFE coaching classes are now being run for business people to help them achieve their goals.

Success in business, as in so much else in life, depends upon attitude of mind. Confidence and being able to think through tasks can mean that something that at first seems almost impossible can be broken down into manageable chunks - and achieved.

Coaching for people who run small businesses is being offered by married couple, Pauline and Mike Isaac of Choice Coaching Limited, based in Stow Longa.

The couple have been married for more than 30 years. Mike has been a business consultant for 20 years and Pauline is a business administrator who has qualified as a life coach.

Pauline says: "There are a lot of people who have started up in business who have great ideas but need help to realise their ambition. There are other people who are already running a successful business but may need help in getting their workforce to accept change - or to work with someone on the team who apparently lacks motivation."

She added: "We can go into a company as observers and see where the problems are and how they could be solved. We don't actually make suggestions. What we do is ask the right questions so the person we are helping will develop the answers for themselves. In the process, they will understand how they can solve other problems, too. What we are giving them is a method for solving problems."

Life coaching can be done face-to-face or over the telephone.

Pauline said: "The person has to be prepared to take on the ethos of coaching and be committed to make changes to make their life better. The first thing we do is define all the areas of someone's life - every portion of it, including their work/life balance, their hobbies and their relationships. They will then score each section out of 10 to see how satisfied they are with it.

"We will work on the areas with the lowest scores first because that is the thing most of the person's mind. Once that has improved, it will give them confidence to work on other things."

She added: "Everything is done is the strictest confidence - some people will pour their hearts out and all kinds of hidden things will come out from the sub-conscious that they are not even aware of themselves."

INFORMATION: Coaching sessions are usually an hour long and most courses will be six sessions. Help can be tailor-made to suit the client. Contact Mike and Pauline Isaac at 10 The Lane, Stow Longa. Telephone 01480 860308. Email: contact@choicecoaching.ltd.uk or see www.choicecoaching.ltd.uk
