A man who police believe lost control of his car and crashed into traffic lights on the ring road in Huntingdon on Monday escaped with only minor injuries.

Cambridgeshire Police are appealing for witnesses after a red Toyota Corolla ploughed into traffic lights just past Sainsbury's at about 9.45am.

The man, who has not been named, was taken to Hinchingbrooke Hospital after complaining of chest pains but was later discharged.

A spokesman for Cambridgeshire Police said: "No other cars were involved in the incident but we would still like to hear from anyone who may have seen anything."
