ANOTHER application has been submitted for the six-and-a-half acre live poultry factory in pleasant rural countryside at Lodge Farm, Little Stukeley, encircled by well-used footpaths and bridleways.
The 500,000 chicks in 12 huge broiler houses would be killed at 45 days. The smell would invade our homes and gardens and the stench would kill the use of the footpaths and bridleways.
Despite ventilation of the poultry factory, waste dust emitted into the atmosphere would be wind-borne to the surrounding area, and the smell would encompass Little and Great Stukeley, the 1,050 houses proposed at Ermine Street, Hinchingbrooke Park and Brampton.
Failure to stop this intensive poultry factory could result in property devaluation over a wide area.
In this so-called democratic society, it cannot be right for one family, farming or otherwise, to impose such misery on the community and our environment.
The Government encourages all age groups to walk and to ride. I urge your readers to oppose the application.
