FARMERS in Ramsey and the surrounding villages are being urged to remain vigilant after a spate of diesel thefts in the area.
In recent weeks police have received a number of reports of thefts of diesel. Pc Ned Kelly from the Ramsey and district neighbourhood team, said: "I would urge farmers to remain vigilant following a spate of diesel thefts in the area.
"Most of these thefts have taken place overnight and I would advise people to review their security and ensure that their diesel is well protected.
"Investigations are ongoing to trace those responsible and I would appeal to anyone who has any information in relation to these thefts to contact police."
