A bat hide has been created by a group of young people at the old riverside pump house, Barford Road Pocket Park, St Neots.
Huntingdonshire District Council, Countryside Services team has been working with Natural High, a charity based in St Neots that works with local young people.
Within the pump house, bat boxes have been built creating a perfect home for bats to rest and breed. The hide is along the river and the bats fly through small holes that only they can access.
The young people built the bat boxes and have been encouraged to help the community while learning about conservation and the environment in a fun and safe way. The project has been on going for several weeks and is now complete.
Ranger for Barford Road Pocket Park, Matt Johnson, said: "This is a great opportunity for us to work with young people and get them involved in a positive way.
"They thoroughly enjoyed the project, it allowed them to be creative with the graffiti and to also learn about conservation.
