I WAS amazed to open The Hunts Post and find the flag designs (July 4). They look great and my vote would be for Flag A - simple, colourful, effective.
Anyone considering Flag B must first sit back and consider that, if Huntingdonshire proclaims itself to be a multicultural area/society, then we should disregard this particular flag right away.
Flag B trawls through religious values, and some may argue it would represent our district as insular. Flag B would get a thumbs-down from me.
We need to be sure any design applying a religious connection (no matter how mild the effect) must encompass a multi-faith approach.
