POLICE have named the 18-year-old killed in a crash on the A141 last week.

Grace Glendenning had been on her way to work at Baker's Oven, in Huntingdon High Street, when her car collided with a lorry between Chatteris and Warboys.

Two retained firefighters from Chatteris, Mark and Gary Edgely, had to be turned from the scene of the accident by colleagues who realised the victim was their niece.

The former Cromwell Community College student lived with her mother in Railway Lane, Chatteris, and had been working in Huntingdon for 18 months.

She had recently passed her test and was enjoying the new-found freedom provided by her car.

In her last entry in her column on her "myspace" website, she described to friends how they would "now see me out in my soon to be new vroom, vroom called Peugeot".

She added: "I love my job. It is immense and there are some really cool people there like Pauline."

An inquest into her death was opened and adjourned last Wednesday at Wisbech.

The family said the funeral would take place at St Peter and St Paul's Church in Chatteris at a date to be confirmed, and would "celebrate her life".

Donations in memory of Grace will be given to the RSPCA.
