As a former traffic police officer with the Metropolitan Police, in my experience pedestrian foot bridges do not work.

Mothers with push chairs and disabled folk with their scooters will use them, but young men will vault over any barrier.

As there is a lot of available ground at the King's Ripton junction with the A141, a roundabout should be constructed together with a traffic light pedestrian crossing (toucan).

For the council to suggest that it would cost £2million to build a footbridge is absurd.
