FIREFIGHTERS had to rescue a horse which it attempted to jump into a field and got its leg stuck in a gate.
One fire engine from Ramsey was called at 9.43am on Thursday, August 23, to reports of a horse trapped in a gate at Whitehall Farm in Causeway Road, Broughton.
When firefighters arrived they discovered that this was a five-year-old male horse which had its leg tangled in a metal gate.
Firefighters cut the gate into sections using specialist cutting equipment and freed the horse, which was uninjured.
Tony Thacker, watch manager, said:
"The owners were extremely pleased that the horse had not been injured and were very grateful for our assistance.
