AFTER almost 30 years in the kitchens, Janet Barwell's young customers are not looking forward to life without her roast dinners and fudge tart.
The 60-year-old is calling time on her job as a catering assistant at Little Paxton Primary School, 29 years after answering an advert in the window of the village shop.
"I had no previous experience but enjoyed cooking and thought it would be a nice challenge for me," she told The Hunts Post.
Mrs Barwell, who was born in Wyboston, but has spent much of her life living in Little Paxton, retired on Friday on her 60th birthday.
Barbara English, headteacher, added: "Her fudge tart was so popular I said she couldn't leave until she gave us her secret recipe.
