SUNSHINE fought through the clouds at the weekend as Needingworth Music Festival provided the beat for up to 2,000 people.
The festival, which is over a decade old, was originally established as a fundraising event for the community. Profits now go towards the maintenance of the village hall.
Roy Fountain, one of the festival organisers, said: "We had predominantly local bands, mainly folk, blues and rock. It was heavier music on the Saturday and lighter music on the Sunday, because we call that the family day."
Bouncy castles, face painting and side stalls were on site on Sunday to keep families entertained. Children from Needingworth Pre-School also took part to raise funds for their school.
Mr Fountain added: "Everyone thoroughly enjoyed it. We had a very big marquee and everyone was up and dancing. It's not a massive event but over the years it's built up a good reputation.
