The Shape of Water

The Shape of Water is an other-worldly fairy tale, set against the backdrop of the cold war era in America in 1962.

In a hidden high-security government laboratory, Elisa (Sally Hawkins) and co-worker Zelda (Octavia Spencer) discover a secret classified experiment.

Her life changes forever when she discovers the lab’s classified secret -- a mysterious, scaled creature from South America that lives in a water tank. As Elisa develops a unique bond with her new friend, she soon learns that its fate and very survival lies in the hands of a hostile government agent and a marine biologist.

Director Guillermo del Toro’s film has received 13 Academy Award nominations, including Best Actress for Hawkins, Best Supporting Actress for Spencer and Best Director for del Toro.
