New Saints ABC prospect George Pyke has progressed to the quarter-finals of the National Junior Development Championships.

The 15 year-old Eastern Counties champion extended his successful run for the Eaton Socon-based club to four fights when beating Aylesbury ABC opponent Jody Wells on points at a show in Billericay.

Five other New Saints boxers were in action at a St Ives Boxing Academy Show at Hinchingbrooke School Performing Arts Centre.

Bill Davis (11) forced a third-round stoppage against Chaz Butters of Hornets ABC, while Nathan Buckley (15) beat his opponent from the same club, Josh Ring, inside two rounds.

Ron Belkin (12) continued an unbeaten start to his career with a points win against Dillon Read (Leicester Railwaymen ABC), while 11 year-old Bobbie Stanley returned to winning ways with a unanimous decision against Charlie Harris (Golden Gloves ABC). Davy Jones (12) boxed well to instruction in a skills contest against Jimmy Ellwood (Progress ABC).
