Matt Clements’ men produced one of their best displays of the campaign when blowing away Banbury 3-0 at the Premier Plus Stadium.

Jordan Norville-Williams opened the scoring on the half-hour mark and Dylan Williams extended the advantage. Nabil Shariff then hit a late clincher to seal a third successive victory and a fourth win in five games.

But it was another miserable night for St Ives Town as they slumped to a heavy home defeat.

The lowly Saints were thumped 6-2 by Stratford at ProEdge Westwood Road – a scoreline described as ‘embarrassing’ by manager Ricky Marheineke.

An early Peter Clark equaliser and a Tom Knowles penalty provided the hosts’ goals.

Eynesbury climbed back into the United Counties League Premier Division top six last night.

Depleted Rovers won 3-1 at struggling St Andrews in a fixture being replayed after the initial staging was abandoned last month.

Eynesbury fell behind in the first half but an own goal provided a leveller on the stroke of half-time.

Jordan Brown and Luis Vieira then fired Rovers to victory in the second period as the hosts had two players dismissed to finish with nine men.

The success was dedicated to club president Harry Eddy, who died on Monday just a few weeks short of his 95th birthday.

Eddy enjoyed a long association with the Hall Road club, previously serving as chairman and treasurer and still attending matches on a regular basis.

Huntingdon saw their run without a United Counties League Division One victory extended to 10 games last night.

Jimmy Brattan’s men, who have picked up only two points during that time, were beaten 3-0 at promotion-bound Potton.

Godmanchester Rovers are in action tonight (Wednesday) as they step up their bid to finish third in the Thurlow Nunn League Premier Division.

Ollie Drake’s men entertain Kirkley & Pakefield at the David Wilson Homes Ground.
