St Ives Town Ladies continued their Cambridgeshire Women’s Premiership title quest by beating a frequent set of opponents for the fifth time this season.

Darren Marjoram’s side triumphed 6-0 at March Town Ladies last Sunday to complete a full set of three league victories against the Fenland side. They’ve also put them out of two cup competitions.

A quickfire double midway through the first half, featuring a Tierney Coulson header and a Georgia Stancombe penalty (after Coulson had been brought down), put them in command of the latest clash.

Sisters Amy and Hannah Seymour-Shove extended the advantage in the second half before the latter sibling laid on a fifth goal for substitute Megan Stow. Fellow replacement Connie Liddiard then completed the scoring.

Saints are now within six points of long-time leaders Netherton, but they boast three games in hand on the Peterborough side and also still have to face them on two occasions.

Saints’ next test is a trip to Cambridge City Development this Sunday. The club’s Development side go to rock-bottom Burwell Tigers Ladies in the Championship South after being without a fixture last weekend.
