Nominations are beginning to come in for this year’s Hunts Post Sports Awards.

From football to bowls, all sports are being represented, as the good folk of Huntingdonshire nominate those they feel should be honoured by the newspaper and given a chance to have their moment at Burgess Hall at the end of July.

It will be quite a gathering of Hunts sporting folk at the St Ives venue which this year takes over from Hinchingbrooke Creative Arts and Hunts Post editor, Andy Veale, said: “If the last three award ceremonies are anything to go by it will be another wonderful night out.

“There are some amazing sporting stories in Huntingdonshire and the awards are a great way to celebrate them.”

The 10 categories are:
Sports Personality of the Year, Outstanding Achievement for an Athlete over 18, Outstanding Achievement for an Athlete under 18 sponsored by Central England Co-operative, Outstanding Achievement for an Athlete with a Disability, School of the Year, Coach or Manager of the Year, Lifetime Achievement, Senior Team of the Year sponsored by Whiting & Partners, Junior Team of the Year sponsored by Copleys Solicitors and Unsung Hero.

All you need to do to nominate is go to the awards’ website at www.huntssportsawards.co.uk.

The deadline for entries is June 6 so you have plenty of time to encourage friends and family members to nominate their favourites too.
