Huntingdon Boat club entered 12 events at Birmingham Regatta on April 27 and came away with six wins in total.

The event was rowed on Edgbaston Reservoir over a distance of 700m. This was a round-robin, with crews having to row up to three times, staying on the water for the next round.

All crews did exceptionally well with the weather conditions being cold and windy.

Edward Adams, Toby Ray, Ethan Gold and Noah Scott-Donkin were the first crew to win in an open coxless quad.

Alice Ray and Louise Bocking won the women’s open double scull. Ethan Gold and Noah Scott-Donkin had a straight final in the J16 double sculls beating Stowe Sculling Club.

Mark Smith and Iain Rickerby also had a straight final in their senior double scull winning against Birmingham Rowing Club.

Toby Ray won junior single scull. The club had three J14 single sculls competing, Charlie Eastoe winning the A event.

Ollie Burgess and James Johnson-Keay competed in the B event, Burgess winning one of his rounds.

Others competing on the day were Tom Hancock J15 single sculls, Edward Adams in Masters single scull. Tom Starling, Iain Rickerby, Mark Smith, Edward Adams competed in a men’s four with Toby Ray coxing.
