Woman in 60s suffers head injury in crash near St Ives

A woman in her 60s has been injured in a car crash this morning (Thursday).

Emergency services were called to Rogues Lane, Elsworth, just after 8am after a silver Ford Mondeo and a blue Nissan Micra collided, blocking the road between Smith Street and the B1040.

A spokesman for the East of England Ambulance Service said paramedics were treating a woman in her 60s for a head injury thought it was not thought to be serious.

A polilce spokesman added that both vehicles needed to be recovered and the road was cleared by 8.30am.
