Visitors to the Porch Museum in Godmanchester were given an insight into Huntingdonshire’s rich history, courtesy of a special exhibition.
The Norris Museum, based in St Ives, brought some of its collection to The Porch on May 1 and residents were invited along to view a range of historical artefacts, from pre-historic fossils and Roman-era items, right through to fen skating memorabilia.
Hannah Vandridge, learning and outreach officer at the Norris Museum, said: “It was a fantastic day with more than 300 people attending. Families were able to discover all sorts of different aspects of Huntingdonshire’s rich history, from Jurassic fossils to mammoths of the Stone Age, to Roman Godmanchester to the fen skaters and more.
“The Porch Museum provided a fantastic venue and we would like to thank the team for making us feel very welcome. We enjoyed working with them and meeting all the fantastic people who dropped by.”
