Police cordoned off St Peter's Road, Huntingdon, after an accident involving a lorry and a pedestrian.

A woman who was hit by a lorry in Huntingdon last Wednesday has died.

The 63-year-old was seriously injured when she was struck by a lorry on St Peter’s Road at about 1.10pm.

A Cambridgeshire police spokesman said the woman died in the early hours of today.

A spokesman for East of England Ambulance Service said: “The woman sustained serious injuries and following treatment and stabilisation by paramedics and the Magpas critical care team, she was taken to Addenbrooke’s Hospital, Cambridge, for further care.”

Magpas Helimedix said the woman was in a critical condition when she arrived at hospital.

Officers blocked the road between the Towerfields roundabout and Redwongs Way for a number of hours.
